Bag Totes for Wildlife - Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon
You buy a bag, we discover more about wild dragons, together we help save a species
With your support, we’ve got conservation in the bag. We have an extraordinary second change to save one of the most threatened species in the world from extinction. The rediscovery of the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon (VGED) is a timely reminder of the urgency and importance of our fight against extinction.
This tiny dragon reaches just 15cm head to tail when fully grown, and as its name suggests, unlike most other lizards, it doesn't have external ear openings. Once reasonably common in grassland habitats from Melbourne to Gisborne to Geelong, there is now only one known wild population left. We have a lot to learn about the VGED since it has been missing for 54 years!
Every bag sold will help fund research to discover more about the dragons, unlocking how to support their long-term future.
